David`s Bistro in Antioch

This is hands down my favorite restaurant ever! Tonight's meal didn't disappoint. My favorite thing is how the owner treats my 10 yr old...every time like she is the most important person in the room. And the pork tenderloin is amazing!

My friends and I went to David's Bistro last night. The food was fantastic and there was a large variety of entrees to choose from. We also had dessert, which was heavenly. David came to our table to personally ask how things were going. We are definitely coming back to try more of the selections. I highly recommend this restaurant!

Very nice comfortable atmosphere. Food is delicious. They cater to your needs. David is not only an amazing cook but he actually cares. It will take only a moment for you to see that. I don't eat wheat,dairy or any sugars. ( Saved my life no kidding, do your research). No problem here! Gluten free and waitress really understood and helped my daughter and I order. It looks fancy with nice table cloths and well placed flatware. However, Any dress code is friendly accepted. They have been here for nine years and this was my first time patronizing. We will be back!

We had four people and we all ordered a different entree-all prepared well, red meat, chicken and seafood. The owner came to the table to make sure we were enjoying dinner. A small and comfortable atmosphere.

The food was delicious and the service was excellent. Their mushroom soup was heavenly.

Good food, gluten free options for almost anything on his menu. David always friendly and attentive.

The white fish is to die for. The chef-owner makes the best sauce that comes with it. Everything is fresh and tasty. The ambiance is welcoming and the service is five star!

My husband and I love to eat here. David is absolutely the best at making you feel right at home. This year we had our Valentines dinner here and enjoyed every single bite. The live entertainment was wonderful and David surprised the heck out of me by joining in and playing the piano and singing- both of which he is great at. I also was informed that the artwork on the walls was done by him. Wow! Is there anything he can't do? :)

Visited David's Bistro today with a friend. The service was great and the food was fantastic!! One of the other customers asked if David would mind singing a few songs and he did. He is a great performer!! He also came to each table and asked about our dining experience. A great chef and cafe!!

David's Bistro is amazing. Chef David is creative and uses only the best ingredients. It's my favorite restaurant in Lake County hands down. Last night I went to one of his cooking classes (he has one every month). He cooks for you and gives you recipes and you eat a 3 course meal. It was so entertaining and absolutely delicious. The waitstaff is wonderful. Highly recommend.

Extremely nice staff. Amazed on how the chef came out and talked to us. Great tasking food. Only issue we had was it's a bit on the pricey side for the wife and I. Once a year kind of place for us.

Me and my boyfriend have been looking for a nice restaurant in Antioch and finally found it here. Great food, nice decor, fantastic waitress. We really enjoyed our time Saturday night and will be back real soon. We highly recommend it if you enjoy fine dining. Kim :)

We enjoyed a wonderful meal before our theater show at PM&L next door. The service was attentive, food was flavorful and dessert was delicious! This is a nice go-to spot for dinner, drinks or dessert before your next show.

Lively for a Tuesday! Excellent specials and the stand-by flat bread pizza never disappoints. Love this gem in Antioch.

Everything about this place is amazing. The food, the staff, the atmosphere, and David. David came out to introduce himself today to our table which really made us feel special. We were able to ask questions about meals we were debating on. Our waitress was so nice as always. Always made sure our drinks were full and checked in with us often. I always recommend this place to friends and family.

Outstanding meal overall! The Crab cakes were the best. The owner Dave came by and checked on us, then he played the piano. Great live music too.

Excellent food very quaint

We've gone to David's Bistro for the Prix Fixe Valentine's day dinner for the past 2 years. The food is great. The chef comes around to each table to make sure everyone is satisfied. Good wine and mixed drinks. No fancy ambience, but it is located in a charming section of old downtown Antioch, IL

A very cozy place for an intimate dinner or to eat with friends. Entrees are moderately priced. Chef David’s selection has an upscale flair and quality, while staying moderately priced. Sauces and glazes enhance the selections with an exceptional zest usually found only in the very best restaurants. The ambiance is an eclectic amalgam of elegant and laid-back. An added flavor is Chef David’s humor, which you may experience as he visits with his clientele. Service is above average and attentive. Parking in front on the street is limited, and parking in back entails a walk around to the front, the only real ‘con’ for the Bistro. Our party of 4 visited at opening ( 4 pm ) on Wednesday, February 7, 2018. We were the only patrons for the first 45 minutes. Alcoholic drinks are available. There are exquisite appetizer and dessert menus; however, our group did not order these items as the entrees are quite filling.

Not great this time. First time I went approximately 2 years ago the meal was great. This time around, not so much while dining on an identical meal. Foie gras was miniscule and accompaniments were bland. My partner had the scallop and flounder special: obviously previously frozen and over cooked. I had the steak and frites, also underwhelming. Bananas foster for dessert was literally sliced bananas in a caramel sauce with ice cream. It’s sad, it was so good the first time around but doubt I will be going back. I might add that the waitress made things uncomfortable as she kept checking up on us as though she knew there was something to apologize about; the food!

Always great food! Appetizers are out of this world. Biggest shrimp cocktail I’ve ever scene. David always comes out and personally thanks you for coming and asks how everything was. Even surprised my wife and I on our anniversary with a complimentary dessert.Wonderful man, wonderful staff, wonderful place!!

They just don't seem real consistent with the food. Some times it is really good, other times not so much. I think the appetizers are a bit small for the price point- I mean they are for sharing.

Been wanting to try this restaurant for some time, and tonight was my lucky night! Our server, Crystal, was very attentive and made THE best Cosmo! Husband enjoyed the portion size and flavors of the Chicken Parmesan. I tried the special: Crab Cake with Scallops in lemon cream sauce with mushroom Risotto ~ DELISH! And, we found room for the Cheesecake. No words. Simply must make a reservation and try it for yourself!

Superb meal. David even came out to greet us. Quaint setting with a friendly staff. Dishes from simple to complex. Something for everyone. I suggest the duck breast!!

David's is consistently good food. We love to head here for date night. The cheesecake is house made and an excellent choice. The cooking classes are so much fun! David kept us laughing all night long. Try the soup! I've never been disappointed. A great date night restaurant.

This is the best restaurant in three counties. His menu is diverse and his food is out of this world. Best scallops ever. Great desserts. Nice little bar area to imbibe while waiting for your table. I have probably had everything on the menu over the years and every bit of it was delicious. If i could give him 10 stars i would. I highly recommend David's.

We met with friends at this place for a meeting. my friend recommended this restaurant. Well, it was a winning. The staff welcomed us with a smile and we felt very good. The food was just great. We had a great time and we shall absolutely come back again. We recommend this place to all.

Terrible food, cranky slow service and a crazy chef that throws you out of you don't lie about it to stroke his ego. The great reviews must be paid for. This place was dead at 7pm. Clearly everyone else in town knows to stay away. I'll never go back! Totally insane terrible experience.
